We're back out west for another one. This one is against the team that held up Lord Grey's Cup for all to see. We saw it happen in the stands. We saw it on the television. They saw it from the dressing room. It should have been us. We're in BC Stadium against the Lions who have not been doing so well this year. Laying low like they did last year. The core is still there .. Allen, Drummond, Millington, Benefield. Time for payback. Retribution. A good old fashion stomping. I'm sure they are waiting. I'm sure they will want to reconfirm the point that was made Nov. 26, 2000.
For those interested in getting together to watch the game may we invite all the good folks of Section W and other Alouette fans may we suggest the Main Event Sports Bar on St. Jacques Street in NDG.

Folks, it looks as though that moment of truth is here. That defining moment that will measure the true strength and grit of our Alouette football team. We punched out a rudderless Argos team and trampled all over the hapless Stampeders. Great stuff you say? I should say so! However this coming Friday we should be able to see how our football machine works against an equally successful Winnipeg Blue Bomber squadron. The Blue Bombers are undefeated scoring more points in their two games than the Alouettes. Yet our defence has relinquished fewer points. Cavillo has put all of his available weaponry to good use, as has Khari Jones. The sophomore Winnipeg quarterback is showing great poise and maturity in the early stages of this new season. But most of all, the animosity between the two clubs still exists. These two teams just dont like each other. Between the players, between the administrations, between the medias, between the fans, there exists a genuine HATE ON. Fuelled by events both on and off the field, bad blood exists from last year and this bad blood boiled over in last years eastern divisional final. But this story is far from over. This year the Blue Bombers want nothing less than to spoil the Montreal Grey Cup party and show up as the Eastern Division Champion. The war continues.....
Take for example this quote taken directly from Winnipeg wide receiver Jamie Stoddard:
Fan: Have you heard about the "brawl in Montreal" that happened last year? Cause if you did, do you think that will happen on Friday night's game?
Jamie Stoddard: I really don't know. Anything can happen out there. When we get in the end zone, we still plan on dancing, and they can choose to respond however they want. I think this game being a battle for first; the outcome will be decided between the lines. So, I don't see a brawl happening, but anything could happen.
As usual we think it would be a great idea to get together this coming Friday night and watch the big game. The good fans of SECTION W would like to invite not only our section friends but also all Alouette fans to get together at the Main Event sports bar in NDG to watch the game. The Main Event showcases grandstand seating, a complete menu and a fully stocked bar. Try and make plans to come out cheer the Als together.
